a. Organizational Setting
The post is located within the Technical Coordination Section, Premises Management Service, Premises Infrastructure Division, Administration and Management Sector.
The Premises Infrastructure Division is responsible for the management and maintenance of all land and buildings within the WIPO campus in terms of infrastructure and technical facilities and the management and allocation of space, and of various equipment, furnishings and supplies, and in terms of providing logistical support to all sectors of WIPO. The Division is also in charge of the Environmental Responsibility Project and the Physical Accessibility Project in all buildings on the WIPO campus.
b. Purpose Statement
The incumbent leads the work of the HVACS team and is responsible for the proper and continuous operation of HVACS facilities in all buildings on the WIPO campus and for monitoring of facilities in rented buildings, as well as for infrastructure (construction, renovation, conversion).
S/he is accountable under the Business Continuity Plan for the functioning of key HVACS facilities as well as crisis management and operational response teams, with particular attention to key facilities that ensure business continuity in the fields of security, IT and conferences.
The incumbent ensures that WIPO staff, senior management and delegates can exercise their responsibilities during all meetings or events in safe and comfortable conditions.
c. Reporting Lines
The incumbent works under the supervision of the Head of the Technical Coordination Section.
Completed secondary education.
Technical diploma in HVACS domain – [equivalent for example to Certificat Fédéral de Capacité or Certificat d’aptitude professionnelle, Brevet professionnel or Baccalauréat professionnel].
At least eight years’ relevant experience related to the HVACS domain of which several years’ recent experience as responsible for maintenance of HVACS installations and equipment.
Several years’ experience supervising staff.
Experience in the field of sanitation.
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken French.
Knowledge of written and spoken English.
Job Related Competencies,
Sound knowledge of Building Management Systems related to HVACS.
Sound knowledge and/or experience in the field of sanitation.
Knowledge of standards applicable in the host country related to the HVACS domain (Swiss Engineers and Architects professional standards (SIA)).
Excellent people management skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to rapidly assess and react to technical issues.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work assignments and to meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain good working relationships in a multi-cultural environment.

Competent user of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and the internet and the ability to adapt quickly to new software.
Vendor management skills.
WIPO staff members are international civil servants subject to the authority of the Director General and may be assigned to any activities of the Organization. Accordingly, the selected candidate may be required to move from time to time to new functions.
Annual salary (Net of tax): 81,421 CHF

* Initial period of one year, renewable, subject to satisfactory performance. No fixed-term appointment or any extension hereof shall carry with it any expectancy of, nor imply any right to, (further) extensions or conversion to a permanent appointment.
7,939 CHF per year for dependent spouse; 6,398 CHF per year for each dependent child.
Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish: 4,788 CHF per year for two of these languages, and 3,192 CHF per year for one of them. The allowance is not payable for the mother tongue or the main working language of the staff member. The grant of this allowance is subject to examination.
General Service posts are generally subject to local recruitment. Staff in the General Service category is recruited in the host country or within reasonable commuting distance of the Headquarters.
