Group Purchasing Manager (m/f)

to work at a global level while being based in Geneva, and to lead, guide and inspire a team of around twenty high-performing purchasers around the world. In charge of the overall purchasing strategy defined by the Group and reporting directly to the LEM VP of Industry Operations, you will be responsible for all direct and indirect purchases of products, services and raw materials with a total annual budget of CHF 120 million. Developing and applying a supplier consolidation and optimization strategy worldwide, you will ensure compliance with agreed budgets, service quality and the quality of any products purchased within the markets. Managing the turnover and purchasing budget for raw materials, services and supply solutions, you will ensure optimized cash management and take into account any financial impact associated with international trade. Responsible for global procurement and costs, you will ensure achievement of the economic and quality-related targets set within the Group. Working to improve supplier flexibility every year, together with your team, you will explore new ways to significantly reduce costs and encourage the implementation of innovative and sometimes groundbreaking solutions. In the setup of LEM’s matrix organization and supporting the development of geographic purchasing optimization strategies, you will work closely with the global commodity team, the R&D project teams and the supply chain department. We are looking for a Purchasing Manager with a proven track record in Global Purchasing Management within a company active in electronics or mass production. Holding a Master's Degree in Economics or Engineering with an MBA in Purchasing or Supply Chain, you will have at least ten years of experience in purchasing and five years in a management role within a multi-site environment, including technical development, performance appraisal and goal and target monitoring. Used to managing and implementing complex and group-wide projects, you will know how to meet objectives in terms of time, costs and budgets. A talented communicator with strong leadership abilities, you are familiar with the negotiation techniques and skills in current use within a premium global market subject to cost competitiveness. Possessing excellent knowledge in the rules of this type of market and the opportunities created through a global understanding of, and approach toward, our suppliers worldwide, you will be capable of demonstrating tact and diplomacy while also remaining firm. Having a good understanding of our business environment, you will be able to take action yourself in the field, guide and set the pace for your department for all indirect and materials purchases and any projects to source new products. A motivating leader for your teams, you are passionate about helping those around you develop to their full potential. Comfortable at all levels, you communicate fluently in English and French. Knowledge of Chinese would be of benefit.
